Chassis Trailer Remanufacturing Process
By structural straightening, full chassis renewal and precision calibration, we completely solve the common problems of old skeleton trailers such as deformed frames and loose twist locks.
Container chassis trailers are specially designed for container haulage, featuring pure frame structure, fixed twist lock positions and high-frequency highway transportation. Unlike cargo or dump trailers, chassis trailers require extremely high frame flatness, precise container locking accuracy and stable high-speed running performance.
REMAN ROAD standardized chassis trailer remanufacturing process focuses on frame recovery, twist lock renewal and chassis system upgrading, restoring old skeleton trailers to near-new container transportation standards.
The specific remanufacturing steps are as follows:
- Full Disassembly & Component Sorting
- Full Sandblasting & Defect Detection
- Frame Straightening & Structural Reinforcement
- Twist Lock & Locking System Renewal
- Full Chassis System Upgrade
- Brake & Electrical System Refurbishment
- Professional Anti-Corrosion Painting
- Precision Assembly & Calibration
- Full Performance Testing & Delivery Inspection
Full Disassembly & Component Sorting
We completely disassemble the entire chassis trailer, including main frame, cross beams, twist lock assemblies, axles, suspension, braking system and electrical parts. All loose, deformed, aging and fatigued components are scrapped directly. Only qualified main steel frame is retained for structural repair and overall remanufacturing.
Full Sandblasting & Defect Detection
The whole skeleton frame undergoes full sandblasting treatment to completely remove old paint, rust and surface oxidation. This process exposes hidden cracks, metal fatigue and frame distortion, ensuring no structural defect remains hidden, which is critical for precise container loading and high-speed driving safety.
Frame Straightening & Structural Reinforcement
We perform precision straightening and non-destructive testing on the main beam and cross beams. All deformed frame sections are calibrated to standard flatness. Stress points such as container bearing areas and suspension connection positions are reinforced with thickened steel plates to eliminate frame bending and torsion problems caused by long-term container heavy load.
Twist Lock & Locking System Renewal
Twist locks are the core components of chassis trailers. All old, loose and inflexible twist locks are fully replaced with brand-new standard container locks. Each lock position is precisely calibrated to ensure accurate container positioning, firm locking and no shaking during high-speed transportation.
Full Chassis System Upgrade
We renew all key chassis accessories, including heavy-duty axles, mechanical suspension, leaf springs, balance arms and wear-resistant bushings. The upgraded chassis system ensures stable load-bearing, straight running and reduced tire wear, perfectly adapting to long-distance highway container logistics.
Brake & Electrical System Refurbishment
The dual-circuit air brake system and ABS anti-lock system are fully overhauled with new brake chambers, valve bodies and brake pads. Air tightness testing guarantees stable braking performance. All wiring, tail lights and reflective marks are replaced to meet international highway safety standards.
Professional Anti-Corrosion Painting
After overall polishing and rust removal, the chassis frame is sprayed with epoxy anti-rust primer and durable topcoat. The double-layer anti-corrosion system effectively resists rain, dust and road salt erosion, improving the long-term outdoor service life of the skeleton trailer.
Precision Assembly & Calibration
All chassis parts, suspension systems and twist lock assemblies are reassembled strictly according to factory standards. The whole frame flatness, lock spacing and axle parallelism are precisely calibrated to ensure accurate container fitting and stable overall structure.
Full Performance Testing & Delivery Inspection
We conduct container loading simulation tests, high-speed stability debugging and full brake performance tests. Only chassis trailers with qualified frame flatness, flexible locking function and stable driving performance can be delivered.
